Frequently Asked Questions

Will you play Megaman-X/Megaman Zero/Megaman Battle Network/Megaman Legends/Megaman and Bass/[Insert even more Mega Man games here]?

We don't know. For now we'll just play 1 through 6 on virtualnes.com. We're not sure what we'll do after that.

Will you play Rockman 4 Minus Infinity?

Read the previous question!

Will ... happen? / Have you already beaten ... ?

Maybe. No spoilers!

Why won't you use E-tanks? What's with these E-tank rules?

To add to the challenge. We consider E-tanks automatic victories.
We find that E-tanks make bosses too easy. For a long time we did not use them at all.
Later, we decided to treat E-tanks as sort of extra large big health balls, using them to heal instantly.
Therefore, we can't use them at the bosses, but they are not a purely negative thing anymore when we get them as random items.

What program do you use to make your comics?

Powerpoint 2007 and above, plus MS Paint. For animated gifs we use Photoshop CS2.

Where do you play the games?

On www.nesbox.com.
Direct links to the games:
Mega Man
Mega Man 2
Mega Man 3
Mega Man 4
Mega Man 5
Mega Man 6

We used to play at www.virtualnes.com.
Here are direct links to the games there:
Mega Man
Mega Man 2
Mega Man 3
Mega Man 4
Mega Man 5
Mega Man 6

Note that this site uses java to run the games. Browsers have lately become rather aggressive towards java, as it poses a security risk. They will not allow you to run the games even if you tell them to accept the risk. If you trust virtualnes.com and want to play the game, you will need to go to your configuration manager, find your java security settings somewhere and add www.virtualnes.com to the trusted sites.

We may decide to look into other ways to play the games if this java issue gets annoying enough.

When you reach MM7, will you use the 8bit version?

We plan on playing the original version, using the 16bit sprites for the comic.

How do you put pictures in the comments?

First of all, you can only do it in the author comment.

You type <img src="[image_url_here]" />

Example:
<img src="http://image9469.someimagehost.com/megamanpicture.png" />

Is it okay if I make a comic based off yours?

Sure, go right ahead.
