In my MM4 hack I often find myself unable to alter boss weaknesses. Instead (also because of the theme) I ended up boosting the boss's HP beyond the measurable limit, both hiding the damage being done (you don't see how much damage you're doing until you've whittled it down to within the measurable amount) but also makes the battle last longer. This might seem like a dumb move but for a boss like this... it actually makes it feel like a REAL boss fight.
