Space.

At least the planet enemies make sense now, but the rainbow sense only got worse.

Videogame Logic

It's space. There's no gravity in space.

Yet you jump normally.

Considering the fact that you're a robot that's made of incredibly heavy metal, this is one of the rare moments where the video game logic is spot on.

Matter cannot occupy the same space, thus Mega Man is pushed up through the platform.
...
Apparently, Capcom thinks rainbows are solid.

@Master_72: Actually, there is gravity in space. The thing about being in orbit is that you're falling towards the planet/star/other big thing you are orbiting. But you're going sideways so fast that you constantly overshoot it.

As of this situation, we were within the range of the atmosphere earlier. That means we're not orbiting earth but just floating in the air on some aircraft. Earth's gravity would attract Mega Man as normal, provided he's not travelling at the 7.8 km/s required to orbit our planet. If whatever he's on is going slower, he experiences just as much gravity as people in an airplane.

More info on the subject, I didn't read the whole thing through but it seems to be saying the right things:

@Master_72: actually he's on platforms that, infact have gravity.
