It's happening again!

Reply Thanatos-Zero, April 8th, 2011, 11:30 am

What you need is just more practice. If you play on a computer with an emulator, you can make use of savestates to learn the patterns of your enemies better, until you can defeat them without being hit at once.
However, savestates should only be used, to avoid more frustation.

Reply The_mad_one, April 8th, 2011, 11:34 am

@ Thanatos-Zero: We don't want to use save states. Everyone can win with save states. We want to beat the games, not the individual moments.

Reply Thanatos-Zero, April 8th, 2011, 11:52 am

@The_mad_one: Alright, there is nothing wrong to do it that way. It just shows how badass you and DJoing are.^^

If you ever intent to do a run of a popular mod like Rockman Constancy, beware that there are things out there, much more worse of what you may know now.

*screams* Naaaaaachhooooooooooo~

Reply The_mad_one, April 8th, 2011, 12:38 pm

@ Thanatos-Zero: Oooh, that sounds quite interesting! But we'll deal with games 1 through 6 first, of course. And maybe 7 through 10.

Reply Thanatos-Zero, April 8th, 2011, 1:11 pm

@The_mad_one: For Megaman 7 and 8, you have two choises. The originals which go above 8-bit and the 8-bit remakes by japanese fans for the PC (by the name Rockman 7 FC and 8 FC).
If you go for the originals, you have to edit your ingame avatars to match the style.
And before I forget: Between 8 and 9, there is the game Rockman and Forte, which was released for SNES and later GBA.

Also what about the gameboy games?

Reply The_mad_one, April 8th, 2011, 1:17 pm

@ Thanatos-Zero: I don't know... We've had questions about the games past 6 before, we choose not to think about it for now, considering we have 4 more games to deal with till we get to that point. ^^'

Editing the MM7 sprites won't be much of an issue. What really worries us are the backgrounds for the 16-bit games, we're not sure if those are available...

Oh, awesome, here they are~!

More Edit: Not awesome, can't find any for MM8. D:

Oddly enough, I got the Megaman anniversary collection today, and I'm playing through Megaman 2 following the strategy you guys did (or doing the same order for the stages anyway).

Super. Nacho. Man.

Reply Alienoid, April 8th, 2011, 3:58 pm

Apparently, Mad is 65 deaths ahead of Dj.

Reply The_mad_one, April 8th, 2011, 4:23 pm

@ Alienoid: My only consolation is that he had 61 more deaths than me in the first game... :(

Reply greenpowerstar, April 8th, 2011, 4:57 pm

@ Panel 8 & 9: As Super Macho Man (from Punch-Out!) would say, "RELEASE THE BOGUS!"

Reply Metal (Guest), April 8th, 2011, 8:06 pm

@The mad one
That was because of yellow devil.

Also, will you be doing the x series, zero series etc.?

Reply The_mad_one, April 8th, 2011, 8:45 pm

@ Metal: Actually, the Yellow Devil killed me 19 times, and Dj just 12 times. Dj died another 27 times in the stage though. This means the Yellow Devil and his stage only widened the gap by 20 deaths.
Since the beginning of this stage, I had 33 deaths, Djoing had 4, widening the gap by 29 deaths. ;)

We have seriously no idea if we'll be able to play and sprite those games. We'll deal with it when the time comes.

Also, congratulations! You've just raised the number of comments to 3000~!

Reply Game-over, April 8th, 2011, 8:58 pm

And super nacho man still win the battle!

It was really cool after megaman series you two made with batletoads, nobody beat that game.

Reply Metal (Guest), April 8th, 2011, 9:24 pm

And with this comment being #3003, there's only 5998 comments to go.

An original twist on a joke that got beaten, killed, chucked into a dumpster, pulled out of the dumpster, beaten again, turned into a zombie twice, and killed again.

I do say!

If you guys are thinking of doing hacks, with that talk about "looking into" Constancy.

Beware: people will start making hacks and demanding you make an arc about them.

Reply The_mad_one, April 8th, 2011, 10:15 pm

@ Drawkey: Mods are not the same as hacks. Mods are extensions of game material, often achieved through hacks (a hack is an abuse of coding), but sometimes all the tools to make one are supplied in-game (Example: Spore. At least, I think those creatures and objects can be considered mods).

In this case, they're probably made by hacks, but so are the Megaman games as we're playing them on right now. ;)

As for your warning, thanks. Though, it'll take a looooong time before we'll even get to the point of deciding if we'll do it or not.

Edit: I think Spore does not qualify as mod, I think you do have to alter the code, but sometimes games supply downloadable tools which causes it not to be hacks, since it isn't abuse but alteration.

im back ugh, I haven't commented in forever. LOL nachos LOL. ^o^

Reply Chaun, April 8th, 2011, 10:39 pm

That's going to happen every time one of you hits 100 deaths... isn't it...

Reply Drawkey, April 8th, 2011, 11:17 pm

Constancy IS a hack, although technically a hack could be considered a mod since Cave Story mods are all truly hacks anyway.
