Just so you know, I'm not going to get any more update done today.

We haven't started 3 yet, we'll probably wait till all the pages of MM2 are done.

We might involve readers some time, but I don't really know how we could do that yet. It would be quite complicated to match someone dying 100 times in a stage to someone who clears it in one run.

You've got me to think about it and the best idea I have right now is as follows:

When the last page of a stage is uploaded, a page of the next stage we'd play would follow. People can then play that stage and send us detailed reports of their actions and deaths, as well as an 8bit sprite with bio. We then combine our story with all the reports into a mixed result. When the last page of a stage is up, further reports will be ignored.

There's some serious issues remaining with this plan:
÷ There might be over a 100 reports, we have no idea how many people would participate.
÷ Such amounts would make for a very, very crowded stage.
÷ All these reports would mean a lot of reading and matching, delaying the update rate a lot.
÷ Many different people means we won't be able to check all the characters in their comics (or we would lose much time on that) and thus we'd probably get their characters wrong a lot.
÷ The death report would end up huge.
÷ The story of Djoing and me might not be what actually happened anymore when we blend other people in.

There's some possible solutions, but I dunno about those. Solutions + problems:
÷ Limiting the amount of reports would make a hard decision of the allowed amount. It also gives trouble with people that send the report in episodes since they might quit halfway, though having them get left behind could solve that I suppose.
÷ Selecting only the reports we like will annoy unchosen people.
÷ Randomly selecting a limited amount of reports could work, though it also feels unfair to me.
÷ Putting the other people in a seperate story/seperate stories would make this comic chaotic and also beats the purpose of including other people.

That's all my thoughts as of now, I think. Please feel free to add suggestions/opinions in comments or private messages (comments may have other people read and add to your ideas!). Note, though, that we might not accept your suggestion. We will always say why, but be prepared for that. ; )

@GIGA-XISBASS: We purposedly don't use spoilers about the powers unless we die a considerable amount of times. :P

Reply Samurai pizza hedgehog, January 5th, 2011, 2:01 pm

I died the same way the first time I played this game :D

Reply Bluh (Guest), January 5th, 2011, 3:19 pm

I'd honestly wouldn't do the involving other people thing.

It's better with you and Dj just doing stuff.

Reply The_mad_one, January 5th, 2011, 4:38 pm

Opinions noted.

Don't worry, we won't add any cameos unless we're completely sure it would make the comic more fun to read.

Which, currently, we're not sure about at all, if only due to the reasons mentioned in the author comment.

you could always do this one thing on MSN if you add the other person and you can watch their screen. then you could find someone who has the game and MSN and have them do a level or two to get the password. if thats how it works...

Use the second ladder!!!!
It has an E-tank!!! :D
But it's a bit high :/

??? Wait, there's a Wily Two?

Reply Lord Enigma, January 5th, 2011, 6:05 pm

The idea of including other people is interesting. However I honestly think it would make things more complicated then necessary. Perhaps having different groups of people for each level would make things easier.

Reply Klonoa64, January 5th, 2011, 8:04 pm

or we could do the same idea but with a different game, cause i don't want to take the spotlight from you guys. cause it seems a little rip-offy to do this with a megaman game while you guys are doing this comic

you know, same idea but with cavestory or something like that...

Reply pat15, January 5th, 2011, 9:03 pm

Why not use a different set of people for a different series? Battle Network and Starforce probably excluded, since those don't really feel all that exciting when used as comics, more on videos but it'd get long and tedious

Reply Chaun, January 5th, 2011, 9:48 pm

I think that's a good idea Mad. I had an Idea a while back to kinda do my own spin on this comic using 3 guys each playing a different character in Megaman 10, but since the guys I would be playing with would either not like the limitations set by rules, or the fact that I would probably be the one using Bass. So Either way expect a few death riddled reports from my end.

@Djoing & TMO This is just my opinion, but I think this comic is great with just you the two of you, and adding other people would only take away from the comic.

Reply Jr DJ, January 5th, 2011, 10:33 pm

Pretty much what everyone here's said.

The comic is about you guys, who are experiencing Mega Man games for the first time. (From what I understand at least) Odds are, people that are reading this have played plenty of Mega Man before, and can breeze through basically any given stage of any of the games. There's not much entertainment in that.

Reply Maowe, January 5th, 2011, 10:52 pm

...yeah what everyone else said, problem is,by the time you two get to megaman 7 & 8 is when both would have to use the Fanicom edit games instead of the actual super nintendo and sega genesis/psx format of the games.....i don't have an idea how you two will get the games since i had a hard time findin the games...

so yah...but i do got ideas on how you could still use this sprite editing for the rest of the comic, cause we all know that 9 & 10 uses this format of the old games....

Reply MegaTuga, January 6th, 2011, 3:47 am

You shouldn't do those "cameos" or something. A linear story about the gameplay fits enough... just a suggestion. You could make the Bosses at least say a line XD

Reply Supersheep64, January 6th, 2011, 4:24 am

Or you could have cameos for non-player chars like Rush.

Reply Klonoa64, January 6th, 2011, 6:45 am

oknow im kinda regreting saying that now

oh wait i think it just did

Reply The_mad_one, January 6th, 2011, 7:59 am

Wow, all kinds of response all of a sudden! :o

@ Suggestion of letting some people do some levels and not us:
I'm against this idea, since the challenge we set is to complete all levels. Plus, it would be the same as when you would make a comic about clearing the game yourselves, except we'd be making the pages whilst not having seen the actual playthrough. I would rather encourage you to make your own comic about clearing the games than picking this option.

I suppose bosses do lack some personality a lot of the time, perhaps we can improve this.

Like Dr Light, you mean? :3 *imagines Roll being used as a shield*

Don't worry, it was me who asked for suggestions and opinions, I'm glad at how this turned out. :3

@Everything else that's been said:
I've read it all, but there's not much I can say about the rest, 'cept that I appreciate your concerns and we will take it all in consideration.

As of now I do not feel like adding cameos would work out yet. Right now this would not only require a lot of extra work, but also a lot of luck in who plays, what happens and how we interpret the reports.

Anyway, thanks for your interest and suggestions!

... does GIGA know how to turn his caps lock off?

Even his username is all caps..

Reply The_mad_one, January 6th, 2011, 4:08 pm

As far as I know he always types in full caps. Don't be offensive about it please, since I'll have to delete those comments. ^^'

Reply KK Awesomesauce, January 6th, 2011, 4:10 pm

Caps Lock button is next to the "a" key. Hit it once and type.

Reply Chaun, January 6th, 2011, 4:26 pm

@Mad: What you could do is have somebody else filter out the boring stuff, then find a way to incorporate the more "Humorous deaths" into a limited cameo appearance. We both get the satisfaction of inclusion and you guys can still be the focus and not have to put in so much effort into pleasing those fans who want to take part. Hell, I'll even volunteer to go through all the reports for you.

Reply n47h4n, January 6th, 2011, 11:44 pm

I'm pretty much against the whole cameo idea, but... If you ever decided that you want to do it, one way would be to have you two playing through like normal, and perhaps pass by some other people who are in some sort of wacky situation, or die in a funny way. You could then take note not to repeat their mistakes and move on. But, yeah. I think it'd be better to continue on with the current format, for now.

I know you've already said that you've made up your mind, so I'm not sure why I decided to post this comment... MY VOICE MUST BE HEARD! or... read, or whatever.

Reply Drawkey, March 27th, 2011, 12:18 am

Use the chapter function to make other people you think deserve to play have their own little comics, running alongside this one in a different chapter

Not necessarily important to the plot, and it won't screw up the page numbering
